I'm Karthik Nalapatla, a DevOps Engineer and Site Reliability Engineer with 7 years in the trenches, honing my skills in building and maintaining robust, scalable infrastructures. Having collaborated with diverse teams across the tech spectrum, I specialize in leveraging tools like Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, and Ansible to ensure seamless delivery and optimal system health. A continuous learner and advocate for efficiency, I thrive on optimizing systems and processes, always seeking the synergy where development meets operations.
My journey in DevOps began with an innate desire to bridge the gap between development and operations, ensuring smooth delivery cycles and optimal system health. Over the years, I've gained proficiency in an array of tools and platforms, from container orchestration with Kubernetes and Docker to infrastructure as code using Terraform and Ansible. I have championed the principles of the SRE discipline, always aiming to measure, optimize, and maintain high levels of service reliability and system uptime.
Outside of the technical realm, I'm a mentor and speaker, sharing my insights and learnings with budding engineers and the broader tech community. When I'm not deep-diving into the latest DevOps trends or fine-tuning system architectures, you'll likely find me exploring new hiking trails or immersed in a gripping novel..

Site Reliability Engineer -II
In my experience as a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), I've had the privilege of working in a dynamic role where AWS serves as the backbone of our infrastructure. Leveraging Amazon Elastic Container Service (ECS) for container orchestration has allowed us to build highly scalable and resilient microservices architectures. The observability stack, consisting of Datadog and Dynatrace, has been instrumental in providing real-time insights into our system's performance and identifying potential issues proactively. HAProxy, Amazon's Elastic Load Balancers (ELB), and Application Load Balancers (ALB) play a pivotal role in managing and balancing traffic across our services, ensuring high availability and efficient request routing. Terraform has been a linchpin for our Infrastructure as Code (IaC) strategy, enabling us to declaratively define and manage our AWS resources efficiently. To streamline operations and automate routine tasks, I've extensively used shell scripting and Python programming.
